Admitting that you are afraid is not easy, but it's quite liberating. Admitting is an act of "allowing truth in". When truth takes a look at fear, it helps to shine it away and reassure you. But it can't do that if you keep pretending you're not afraid or trying to manage it in awkward ineffective ways.
You don't have to be a "tough guy" - someone who denies they are afraid when they really are. Fear denied turns into anger and attack.
Let Holy Spirit comfort you and remind you you're just a bit mistaken.
